Affordable Homes Launch

Kilkenny County Council, in partnership with Glenveagh and the Department of Housing, Local Government & Heritage, is delighted to launch a Local Authority Affordable Purchase Scheme at Cluain Glasan, Ayrfield, Kilkenny City.

Through the Local Authority Affordable Purchase Scheme, a total of 10 three-bedroom homes will be made available for purchase for successful applicants at a price lower than its market value. In return, Kilkenny County Council will take a percentage equity interest in the home equal to the difference between the open market value of the home and the price paid by you. All homes are energy efficient with a minimum A-rating on the BER scale with high standards of insulation and air tightness.

Cluain Glasan is located on Granges Road on the western side of the city, just a 5-minute drive to the city centre and in close proximity to St. Luke’s General Hospital. Kilkenny’s MacDonagh Rail Station is just a few kilometres away which is served by regular train links to Dublin and Waterford. For motorists, Kilkenny is well-served by excellent major roads, including the N10 which connects to the M9 motorways to Dublin and the N77 which connects to Portlaoise and the M7 motorway.

The Online Portal will open for applications on Wednesday April 24^th 2024 at 12 noon and closes on Wednesday May 22^nd 2024 at 12.00 noon.

It is important that intending applicants have all their documentation ready to submit at time of application. Applicants should ensure that they fully complete the Application Form, Declarations and submit the Documentação Requerida as the Date and Time of receipt of Valid Application will be one of the criteria on which eligible applications will be prioritised under the Council’s Scheme of Priority.

Applications which are incomplete or those which are not accompanied by the appropriate documents will be deemed invalid.
